one sick man army

i had fallen.
runny nose, endless sneezes and body ache. these are symptoms of flu.
too much cny food? or the haze-look-alike weather? or insufficient sleep?
all those played a part.
i have seen a doc earlier on, got mc and medicine. MC = medical certificate.
i got it, but i dont plan to use. if i dont go, things will not be done, i dont want to spend my weekends in office to mad rush my work. Although i'm always working from home on weekends, but its still better than office in some ways.

my books awaits me, but my body says no.
at the rate i'm going, how to go take exams?

work vs study vs sleep

i'm tired.
both mentally and physically.
work is kinda overwhelming, but it's still manageable if i plan things well.
what i'm lacking is the time to study. after a stressful day, i cant seem to lift my books and start my readings. No mood.
now i really feel that i lack the discipline to cipher through the thick stack of notes.

looking back at my new year resolutions, i cant seem to make any progress in that direction.
i overspend every month, i have no time for studies, i do not have time for workout.
i cant forgo my sleep, as if i dont have enough sleep, my nose will go crazy and fever will follows.

i need a solution fast.

My letter to citibank

Hi,

I have started this account more than 3 weeks ago. Until this day, i have not receive my SMRT activation letter. I am very angry about this matter since my primary objective of getting this bank account is for that function.

I'm also very dissatisfied with the level of customer service i am getting.
The citibank representative DID NOT mention that i have to put in money into this account first in order to get my activation letter. I found out when i went down to ask again 2+ weeks later. I have made arrangement for my HR to credit my salary to this account, so the money will only come in Jan 09.
I have since transfer $50 bucks into this account as per the instructions i got from the sales rep at cityhall mrt station.
I'm still waiting for the card to be activated and it really shocked me on the clarity of the instructions and the speed of the delivery of the products.

Initially, i do wish to engage in the other products that you guys offer like investments and brokerage services, however the level of customer service and the speed of delivery of products are deterring me from doing so now. If it takes a few weeks just to process the SMRT card, i would rather pay the penalty and close this bank account.

I'm not even sure if this will be read, but if it doesn't, i think my decision would be clear.

Thanks
Angry Customer.

Random things about xmas, end of year.

Xmas just ended. Counting down to the end of 2008, which will lead to the coming of peak period. Going to be more busy than i am now. i hope i can survive.

This month, i over spent again. mainly on intangible things or tangible things for others. Such as insurance, food and of course gifts. I bought new working clothes and also 1 pair of Levis jeans for myself. After all my hard work, its OK to pamper myself a little right?

I have been putting the studies of CFA aside. THIS IS BAD. it's just 150+ days more till exams and i have covered ZERO ground. i need much more discipline if i need to get some returns from my money paid.
But i really feel the struggle between work and study now. it's like when i get home and settle down, its about 10+pm and almost bed time. Either that or i am too tired to sit down and read the books. My bedtime books, if i still have energy, are those self help/self-improvement books. However, reading casually and the studying kind of reading is different. they require different level of energy. I'm just so low on the motivation level...sigh.

judging on the frequency of my blog entries, I'm considering to close shop for a while. I dont know, but perhaps i may try to start a blog on my study progress to motivate myself.
Although i just bought myself a pretty cool paper-notebook for studying, i actually fancy the paperless study approach. you know, like http://www.paperlessundergrad.co.uk/
just that its CFA this time. haha!

well enough of randomness, time to go sleep!

tiring

you know, working life is so routine that it seems like a vicious cycle.

its like after you come home, all you wanna do is slack and the time passes so fast, it's almost bed time. there are so much i wanna do in this limited timeframe of freedom.
sigh...i guess it takes discipline to really get down to do what i set out to do.

i have been thinking about lots of things. there's a lot of things i wanna achieve yet i do not have the time for them. how ironic right? when i have all the time in the world, i dont wanna do them, now i'm deprived of free time, i got a whole list of to-achieve list.

Anyway, this would be the set of things i would wanna achieve.

1. speed reading
Not the super sonic kinda speed, but at least 3-5 times my current snail speed.

2. Trachtenberg speed system of math
I always have the fetish of doing maths faster, better and more accurate!

3. CFA
The next academic achievement i'm after.

4. Stable passive income
I'm still learning the art of investment. haha!

5. Build up my own portfolio of investments
I have a target to hit before i hit 30 years old!!!

actually there are more in my head, its just that they are floating around somewhere and i cant really catch them. the above ones are the more significant ones.

let's see how much i can achieve... haha
